Famous safari parks in Africa

We have compiled a list of some of the most iconic safari destinations on the continent

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania stands out among Africa’s safari parks. It boasts the highest density of large wildlife in the world. Within Ngorongoro, the abundance of fauna is so remarkable that encountering lions, elephants, rhinos, zebras and many other animals is a common experience.

Serengeti National Park is arguably Africa’s most famous wildlife reserve. Here, it’s possible to see the Big Five: lion, elephant, Cape buffalo, rhino, and leopard – all in just one day. The park is also home to a wealth of other iconic animals and birds, making it a top destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The legendary Great Wildebeest Migration, the largest annual movement of land animals on the planet, takes place in the Serengeti.

Tarangire National Park, a prime safari destination in Tanzania, is often the first stop on multi-day safari itineraries. It’s renowned for its picturesque Tarangire River, and stunning landscapes marked by signature baobab and acacia trees. The park is home to large populations of elephants and lions. All that makes Tarangire a must-visit for those just starting their safari adventure or those who have only one day for the trip.

Amazing Awesome Trek and Safari. The best Kilimanjaro has to offer. No better tour in all of Africa. Jafari is the best Kilimanjaro tower guide that is presently working in the industry. His knowledge is outstanding and his happiness for life is shared with all whom are so lucky to hike in his presence.

Best Expedition Ever! Ask for Guide Jafari! The team at Awesome Trek and Safaris were truly awesome. We signed up to do a 7-day Mt. Kilimanjaro climb with them and they took care of everything. Hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro has its own challenges, and the team at Awesome Trek and Safaris did such a good job at taking care of all of the logistics so you could just focus on the climb and being present in the experience. The level of support and trip personalization you get make such a difference in whether you are able to summit, and we owe so much of our successful summit to the team at Awesome Trek and Safaris; we couldn't have done it without them. Specifically, I want to shout-out one of our guides, Jafari. We went from meeting Guide Jafari in the morning on Day 1 to feeling like family with him by the end of Day 1. Jafari is truly an expert on the wildlife in the area, the flora and fauna, how to best minimize the effects of altitude sickness on the mountain, and what to do to give you the best chance at summiting Kilimanjaro. He's also a kind soul who is very funny, which makes the trek up Kilimanjaro go faster and easier. Whether you are climbing up Kilimanjaro, going on safari, or taking a custom tour around Tanzania and the beaches of Zanzibar, you want Jafari guiding you around!!! Again, I can't recommend the team at Awesome Trek and Safaris and Guide Jafari enough. They are experts at what they do and help bring your dream adventure to life.

Personalized and professional trek and safari guides Did a Kilimanjaro trek and a safari with this team. Every step of the way, the team was very attentive and professional - which felt reassuring on a high altitude trek. Guide Jafari was very knowledgeable from high altitude sickness prevention and safety on the mountain to fauna and flora encountered on the trek. He was also incredibly proficient at spotting wildlife on the trek. He was very good at personalizing my safari: listened to my expectations, reformulated and clarified to be sure he understood correctly, then not only chose the right park but also the right park section so i could see as many elephants as i could. He was also very patient and was cueing the driver only when i was really done taking photos. A wonderful experience. I highly recommend this team.

Great visit to Tanzania My friend and I visited Tanzania in 2023 and loved every minute of it. The photos below are from the first few days of our trip. Jafari was our guide. On the first day, he showed us the sights of the town of Moshi. Next day, he accompanied me on a seven-hour hike up to the first camp on Mount Kilimanjaro and back to the base. Jafari also has a lot of experience taking groups up to the summit. He is very knowledgeable, responsible and considerate, and I highly recommend him.

Sometimes life beats all movies we have seen before and Kilimanjaro is truly such an experience I climbed Kilimanjaro taking the Lemosho route. The trip was very wisely planned so that my body managed to adapt very well and gradually to the high altitude. The views were indescribably amazing and sometimes breathtaking... ☺️ When you climb Kili have your attention also inside your body, but mostly go with an open, light and happy heart. Do not go in fear or worry and nothing like that will touch your strong spirit.... The guide was very kind and helpful and all his tips were amazing. The whole crew which acompanied me was wonderful and i thank them. It is due to these people that i reached the top.

Best Wildlife safari and Mt Kilimanjaro experience I and my wife had an unforegettable experience with Jafari to see Mt Kilimanjaro. He accompanied us to the serval wildlife safari where we were able to feed Giraffeand Zebras. He then went out of his way to get us a permit from forest officer last minute in the evening and with only couple of hrs to spare. He is a gem of a person and very helpful. We definitely recommend him for safari and trekking mt Kilimanjaro.

Safari in Africa ? Unforgettable Adventure.
